Income-producing property owners, especially those who hold residential investment properties like duplexes and triplexes were among the first people to be affected. Because our tenants are largely in the service industry and Covid-19 badly affected the service industry, we were left with tenants without income. This happened very early on in the Covid-19 pandemic largely because of mandated business shut-downs.
Investment property owners were left without resources to navigate this unprecedented situation. They had to be compassionate, cautious, and wise to handle tenant relationships, maintain expectations for rent, and fulfill their side of rental contracts.
To assist these landlords and owners, I’ve compiled a selection of Covid 19 Real Estate Resources for property owners. These include templates of letters to your tenants, insights into the real estate market during Covid 19, and tips for how to approach your investments.

As property owners we are still responsible for providing rental housing or commercial space consistent with our lease agreements. Currently, I am not aware of any relief being provided by utility companies or government agencies to owners of income properties even though we must continue to provide maintenance services, paying utilities and other related property expenses such as taxes and insurance.
